Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid because the body is unable to synthesize sufficient amounts of glutamine in conditions of illness and physical stress, so external sources of this amino acid are needed. Glutamine supplementation is of great importance for athletes who are constantly exposed to stress as it helps in preserving muscles. Glutamine can prevent muscle loss and, moreover, can increase protein synthesis in the body.

Sci-Muscle Defender™ - Glutamine peptides are known as the best biologically available form of glutamine and are absorbed almost twice as fast as the same amounts of free L-glutamine. The digestive system has a transport system that allows for better absorption and utilization of peptides compared to free forms of amino acids such as L-glutamine.

Glutamine peptides are the answer to what scientists call the glutamine paradox. Glutamine has many positive effects, but the paradox is that the vast majority of ingested L-glutamine in its free form actually ends up in muscle tissue rather than in the bloodstream.
